The Unexplainable Store has been selling mind altering products for the past 10 years. Their line of recordings promises altered states of consciousness using binaural beat technology. These recordings are available in several frequencies designed to target very specific benefits. They promise that with very little effort, you can produce mind altering experiences that will eliminate anxiety, increase motivation, encourage weight loss or other beneficial changes.

So the question is . . . Are these promises too good to be true?

HOW IT WORKS

Binaural beats work by broadcasting two separate frequencies in each ear. The brain works to balance these two frequencies, and as a result will create a third

tone which represents the differences between the frequencies played in the left and right ear.  This third tone serves to raise or lower overall brainwaves.  Isochronic tones, a refinement of the binaural beat technology, are the most advanced form of wave altering tones.  Utilizing tones of equal intensity, these tones use a faster pulse speed and a rhythm that synchronizes with your brain most efficiently. 

Each of the recording topics (such as motivation, courage, weight loss) targets a specific combination and range of frequencies to achieve the desired results.

With that background in mind, I listened to the three free samples offered on the Unexplainable Store home page.

Listening to the three sample tracks makes the differences abundantly clear.  The dissonance of the binaural beat is immediately evident, and I actually began to feel a bit sick as I was listening.  In contrast, the isochronic tones were soothing, no underlying droning noise to cause discomfort.

Having now experienced several of the Unexplainable Store audio products, I would strongly recommend going for the isochronic tones.  They are slightly more expensive, but well worth it.

OK. . . BUT DO THEY REALLY WORK?

I have purchased several of these recordings and I listen to one or more of them daily.  The Unexplainable Store suggests that as you listen, let your  body and mind relax. Don't do other things while you listen, because that just keeps the conscious mind active and alert (beta brainwave frequency)  Don't fight the feelings as you start to descend into lower brain waves (alpha and theta brainwave frequency).

Of course, as soon as I purchased my first recording, I was curious about what I would hear, so I turned on my MP3 player and started listening.  I didn't follow the "just relax and listen" instructions.  I was still rummaging around on the internet at the time, and was just listening out of curiosity, not really intending to do any brainwave altering at the moment.

To my amazement, I began to get very relaxed, so relaxed that I just had to take my hands off my keyboard, sit back and listen to the sounds coming through my headphones.  And although I am certain I was not asleep, I was definitely no longer focused on the outside world.  When the recording was over, I opened my eyes and felt great.  I was shocked at how easy this had been. I am usually far to fidgety to meditate effectively, even under the most conducive of circumstances.  And without even trying, I reached a deep state of relaxation on my first listen!

So, yes. . . The isochronic tones do work. 

I have by no means tested all of The Unexplainable Store products, however, these are the recordings that I feel have the potential for being the most beneficial:

If you decide to buy one or more of the Unexplainable Store recordings, you will receive your purchase in downloaded MP3 format. You'll notice immediately that the sound is clear and static free.  You can hear all the high and low tones equally well.  

Search the internet for competitive products -- you will not find anything of this quality as a freebie.  In fact, I tried a binaural beat video that I found online, and the tones were so high pitched and dissonant that my muscles tightened up and I actually felt pain!  While it may seem like there is little technology behind this product, you have only to listen to the lesser versions out there to realize that the Unexplainable Store offers a top quality product that has been tested and refined over the decade that they have been in business.
